At the Salle des Fêtes in Wuenheim, the historical society Histoire et Mémoire de Wuenheim presents its 10th exhibition, full of emotion and respect. Entitled "Les incorporés de force de Wuenheim" ("Those drafted into Wuenheim"), this memorial exhibition pays deep homage to the "malgré-nous" and "malgré-elles" ("in spite of us" and "in spite of them") who were conscripted against their will into the German army during the Second World War.
Through a selection of enlarged photos, archive documents and texts recounting their individual journeys, this exhibition gives face, name and history to these shattered destinies. An essential duty of remembrance, carried out with sobriety and humanity, so as not to forget the silent suffering of an entire generation.
A convivial area with refreshments will enable visitors to exchange ideas and extend their visit in a respectful and fraternal atmosphere.
