With your family

Des moments "vrais", tous ensemble

“Bringing a partner? No problem! But for three or four people it can get a little complicated! The number and age of the children all impact your budget and influence your choice of holiday and activities. Where to go in Alsace this weekend? What activities are on offer there? Indeed, planning a family holiday or weekend isn’t the simplest of tasks…”

I have two boys myself, aged 10 and 13, and I’ve often been short of ideas on how to keep them occupied. So to help you make the most of your family days out, here’s my list of suggestions of things to do in and around Guebwiller.

LET'S PLAY

If you’re playful and curious by nature, you might be tempted by one of our many treasure hunts. There’s something to suit every taste: fun walks and bike rides in town or in the mountains, Christmas treasure hunts and geocaching trails. We even propose games for download on your pad or smartphone, and an Escape Game for older children! If your children still need to let off steam, they can bring their kick-scooters to our recreational areas and parks, which are also ideal places to walk, go on the swings… and enjoy a snack.

A FAVOURITE

If there’s one place in the Guebwiller area to take the family, it has to be the Alsace Ecomuseum! I love this vast open-air museum. You’ll discover half-timbered houses, ancient occupations and the Alsatian culture… Small children will appreciate the old-style merry-go-rounds and farm animals and can enjoy a ride on a boat or in a cart!

DRAW ME A SHEEP

If you’re looking for fun and thrills, I’d especially recommend the “Parc du Petit Prince” for a trip to the planet of Saint Exupery’s hero, the little prince. Captive hot-air balloon rides, aerobar, log flume, roller coaster, trampolines, animal shows and 4D cinema… The children will love it and so will you!

NOT TO BE MISSED

Besides these amusing excursions, there’s the Vivarium du Moulin, teeming with little creatures, and the wonderful 3-storey toys museum, La Nef des Jouets!
